MPower 2017 Frequently Asked Questions

What’s 'MPower' all about?

Because we are all busy women with full lives, we understand the need to retreat every now and then to be refreshed and recharged. MPower is just that kind of experience. BUT it is also more. We need to see where God is working. We need to hear where God might be calling us to minister in our communities, around the state or around the world. What might that look like? Am I to “Shine” in the same way as someone else or is God calling me to “Start Something New”. Those are just some of the things you might see and hear at MPower. This year’s event will offer inspiring worship, practical Bible teaching, meaningful prayer experiences, learning how to “Start Something New”, and special opportunities to spend time with old friends and in making new ones.

WHAT DOES THE REGISTRATION FEE COVER?

We want to provide a quality experience for those that attend MPower and we want to ensure that everyone receives value for her money. The non-refundable $30 registration fee covers the cost of all program elements, including worship services, break-out conferences, the signature social event and the annual meeting of the Montana Southern Baptist Women (MSBW), plus materials and lunch on Friday. Since there are a lot more costs associated with putting on this event than we take in in registration fees, we are provided some funding from MTSBC, which comes through your generous giving to the Co-operative Program.

IS MY HOTEL PART OF THE CONFERENCE FEE?

Housing costs are in addition to the registration fee.

IF I DON'T ATTEND CW, CAN I GET A REFUND?

Because MPower is a cost-recovery event all the money received is spent putting on the event. Therefore, we cannot refund conference fees. However, you are free to transfer your registration to a friend.

WHAT HIDDEN COSTS CAN I EXPECT?

There are no hidden costs at MPower. However, Montana Southern Baptists are engaged in a prayer partnership with missionaries that have Montana ties and who serve in international settings, known as our Montana Sent missionaries. During our MPower event we do take a special offering, known as the Touch of Love offering, that goes as a financial gift to each of these missionaries at Christmas. We combine the offering we take with two other offerings taken at MTSBC events, which are the annual meeting and the MPact Montana meeting.

ARE SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR THE CONFERENCE FEE?

Regretfully, at this time, the Montana Southern Baptist Women organization is unable to provide scholarships for women attending MPower.

IS CHILDCARE PROVIDED?

We are attempting to arrange for child care, however, it is not certain that it can be made available. When you register, please indicate your interest and the ages of your children. This information will help us determine if there is a need this year.

WILL THERE BE A BOOKSTORE AT MPower?

There will not be a bookstore at MPower this year.

HOW CAN I VOLUNTEER TO HELP WITH MPower?

Volunteers are needed for setting up on Thursday afternoon and for breaking down and cleaning on Saturday afternoon, as well as at other times and tasks during the conference. If you are interested volunteering, contact Paula Rasmussen 406-579-7806 or Sharon Ellington  e911chick@gmail.com.
